Africa’s most exotic river, beach and forest resort – La Campagne
Tropicana Beach Resort, Ibeju-Lekki, Lagos was a beehive of activities
between September 2nd, 2020 to September 5th, 2020 when the entire staff
of Africa’s fastest growing conglomerate – Gtext Global visited the
Resort on a 3-day business retreat. The Retreat held in order to help
the staff members improve on their personal development and work ethics
which would ultimately make them better individuals and deepen the
fortunes of Gtext Global.
At 9:27am, the 47-member entourage left the company’s headquarters at
16b, Babatunde Ladega Street, Omole Phase 1, Lagos in two Coaster buses
and arrived at the resort by 4:43pm. They were immediately and warmly
received by the cheerful staff at the resort.
Thereafter, they were
served freshly tapped Palm wine, tea/coffee and some locally prepared
snacks. Next, the team went on a boat cruise before checking into their
Later that night, after they’ve had dinner, they all converged in
the Chalet reserved for the MD for a brief talk. Welcoming them
officially to the Resort, Mr. Stephen Akintayo, GMD/CEO of Gtext Global,
admonished all staff to maximise their time at the retreat as Management
had spent a lot to organise the retreat. He said the likes of Jimi Tewe,
Dr. Linus Okorie, Eizu Uwaoma, Pastors Adeniyi Adeyemi and Ayo Fadumiye,
and Tope Mark-Odigie (TMO) who were billed to speak at the retreat and
train staff was a strong pointer to Management’s serious desire to
impact staff for improved self-development and better work productivity.
Prayers were said and all departed to their various chalets and rooms
for some rest.
On Thursday September 3rd, 2020, as early as 6:30am, all gathered in the
MD’s Chalet for morning prayers. Afterwards, exercises were done between
8am and 9am. They then had their baths, ate breakfast and proceeded to
have the first training. Afterwards, several other trainings and other
activities followed suit. With each new day, new trainings happened. For
three days, lives were inspired, destinies were transformed and the
attendees were hugely impacted for exponential growth.

Adeniyi Adeyemi, Vision and Purpose that lead to success by Pastor Ayo
Fadumiye, Time control and project delivery by Eizu Uwaoma, CEO of
Hexavia, How to wake up our creative minds by Jeremiah Jacob, Public
Speaking Presentation Skills by Tope Mark-Odigie, Importance of
processes in our daily operations by Edward Elijah Abumoye.
The retreat didn’t end without the recognitions of deserving staff. Some
of the award recipients are: Sholagbade Adeoye (the most punctual
staff), Bryan Ray-Jaja (Most creative staff), Farouq Usman (Best
Customer Service Representative), and the Media Team were awarded the
Best Department. At the end of the retreat, the entire staff were full
of praises and gratitude to the Management Staff for finding it worthy
to invest in them.
Gtext Homes, Gtext Farm, and Ginido were the subsidiaries of Gtext
Global that participated in the retreat.
